Can I get a notification clap?!
Imagine: you just want a quiet inbox. Simple request.
Except in Vanta, that meant clicking through 30+ individual notification toggles like some kind of compliance-themed game of whack-a-mole. yikes!
No more.
One toggle. Everything on, everything off, or somewhere in between if you're feeling fancy. Find it under Settings → Notifications → My Account — and maybe send your mouse a thank you note for all those clicks it'll never have to make again.![]()
nice. Any plans on the horizon for customers using Vanta Team grouping for notification logic & triaging, to set notifications to enforce that path too. ATM, there's still a mixmatch of which things notify into dedicated slack channel vs vanta app DM. and sometimes via email too. Ideally looking for clear destination paths, and stick to them for transparency & viz.
thanks, Rudy! so youre thinking more admin-level control right? i.e. the ability for a Vanta admin to say, 'For this specific team, all notifications, regardless of type, go here and only here' essentially locking the destination so it can't be overridden by individual user preferences. is that all accurate? if so, ill definitely get this in your behalf. point well-received!
That's the idea yes. Maybe does not need to be as rigid, but ideally set the expectation that if a user wants to override in their own user pref's, that's a toggle outside the default norm. Otherwise team setting pref's take pref and should be a default. As it stands, the notification paths are handled differently depending on where you look in the platform. So unifying that experience could be good UX aspect. Purpose - If I've gone through the effort as an admin to setup team grouping and destinations for notifications, that's where I want them to go to. OR maybe I need to spend more time informing my vanta users to toggle their user pref's better for notifications. 🤷 Thanks
I definitely +1 this. It's a huge issue when the CEO is getting notifications because they are assigned some BoD control ownership. We would like to be able to manage notification settings on their behalf rather than having to walk them through setting it themselves. The current change is definitely in the right direction though.
hey Eric S. thanks for the intel there. the way youre thinking about it definitely makes sense. I spoke directly to the engineer who is on the team who owns notifs and they are indeed aware. Plus I have logged this feedback so it is documented for our product team as they continue to evolve the notification experience. You're thinking about it the right way for sure! Ill keep you (and the Community) updated, as always ![]()
