Getting started with agent-led control & policy onboarding Vanta's agent can help you import and map your existing controls and policies — no templates required. Just bring your files and the agent will do the heavy lifting. What you can do:
Import controls from your own spreadsheet or CSV — the agent parses and normalizes your format
Import policies from PDF, Word, or exports
Map policies to controls, and map controls to get evidence suggestions — all reviewed before anything is created in Vanta
Before you start:
Make sure you have an existing program to import (controls, policies, or both)
Connect your integrations first — the agent uses these to suggest relevant evidence
How to start:
1.
Go to the Vanta Agent and open a new agent chat
2.
Tell the agent what you want to do — "I want to import my controls" or "I have policies to bring in"
3.
Upload your file when prompted
4.
Review the suggestions and approve what looks right
A few things to know:
Nothing gets created in Vanta until you review and approve — you're always in control
If the agent pauses or seems stuck, try sending a message to prompt it to continue
You can focus on just one part of the flow (e.g. policy import only) — you don't have to do everything in one session

Hi Vanta Team, I have been using the new AI feature to map controls to policies and noticed a few areas for improvement. "Custom Security Incident Management Procedure" Side Canvas Section:
1.
Although I can interact in Spanish, the side panel always generates the content in English.
2.
It does not display the related control number or the applicable compliance framework. Since we specifically use SOC 2 and ISO 27001, adding this visual mapping would be very helpful for a conscious review.
"Importing compliance policies" Section:
1.
The summary shows errors in the control names, displaying what looks like random letters instead of the actual name or control number.
Fixing these details and maintaining the entire platform experience seamlessly in Spanish would be highly beneficial for our team.
