Customer Commitments Update: AI-Powered Contract Analysis and 20 New Commitment Types Added
Making keeping promises, easier
Customer Commitments got a major glow-up recently. Two updates to share with you:
AI-powered contract analysis
Reviewing a contract against your compliance program used to mean reading every clause by hand. A single contract can carry 50+ commitments, and mapping them to your controls, policies, and evidence is hours of work, every time.
The Vanta Agent now does it for you. Point it at any contract (draft or executed) and it will:
Map each commitment against your live GRC program
Flag gaps where your program doesn't cover the obligation
Surface the riskiest commitments first, ranked by consequence
Help you act: proposing next steps like drafting a redline, opening a risk, or tightening policy language
The result: you walk into contract negotiations already knowing what to push back on and what you can accept.
20 new commitment types out of the box
Customer Commitments previously recognized 16 commitment types; meaning a lot of common obligations (encryption, access controls, logging, cyber insurance, data backups) were landing in an "uncategorized" catch-all.
The library has expanded from 16 → 36 types, so far more of what's actually in your contracts gets classified and tracked automatically. Your commitments inventory now reflects the real shape of your obligations, not just a fraction of them.
So basically, less time squinting at contract fine print, more time actually knowing your program has your back. (because, it does!)
